TP-Link TD-W9980 won't authenticate. Help needed please.

Hi All,

I'm seriously starting to go out of mind.

I currently have VDSL running on the Telkom Netgear VEVG2660. 20MB VDSL is running fine. However I hate the router (for various reasons) and I bought myself the TP-Link.

The TP-link obtains line synchronisation (indicated by line stats etc. on the main screen and a solid green sync light) however it WILL not authenticate. I've tried different accounts (IS - Crystalweb and MTN - Afrihost) but it just won't connect.

When I use the Netgear there are no issues and it authenticates fine on both accounts as per above.

I am hoping that I am missing a setting somewhere and that the TP-Link did not arrive DOA.

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
