TP-Link W8960N "SSID should not be empty or longer than 32 characters" Error

It pains me to say this but my TP-Link router is bogging out. I love my TP-Link products.

Last night, after removing some wireless MAC addresses from my MAC Filters on the router, the wireless died and disabled itself.

I then tried to re-enable it and I get an error saying "SSID should not be empty or longer than 32 characters" every time I click apply. And yes, the SSID field is filled in correctly with the name I had previously used and I have tried other names.

I have tried rebooting, installing different firmware versions, and different browsers and nothing helps. Sound like a hardware fault? I am thinking of taking it in to Uniterm Direct tomorrow.

Any suggestions?

Installing different firmware will not guarantee factory default settings again.

Do a hard reset instead. Usually the hard reset involves holding in the reset button for like 30 seconds, whilst switching on the router.
So you power off the router (unplug the power), then start holding in the reset button and then only plug in the power again and keep pressing the reset button for 30 seconds.

The hard reset for that ADSL modem might be slightly different from what I explained here.

If the hard reset didn't fix it, take the router back.
