Anyone know how to setup halfbridge mode on this router??

See if you have the following option under the PPPoE configuration page: Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports

Its either that, or it may be called PPPoE Relaying

This I would like to know too. Ok mine is the W8970, but I guess the firmware is very similar. I remember once getting it right, but it may have been before I upgraded my firmware.

Solved it. Run the dsl in bridge mode but add a ppoe connection under Wan Service under Advanced setup.

That is usually the second option that I try when I cannot find a "Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports" option under the PPPoE connection settings.
Just make sure that you specify the correct VPI/VCI settings for the Bridge WAN interface, otherwise you won't be able to establish PPPoE connections from other LAN devices.
