I just did a tracert to www.google.com OK (Telkom ADSL + TelkomInternet). I have been having severe problems with international FTP though (extremely slow e.g. 37 bytes per second if I'm LUCKY otherwise just timeouts and disconnects)... it's been nearly useless the last couple of days. I also generally have problems like slowness or disconnects with POP3 from ANY server (local or int.) except Telkom's --- I'm suspecting it's a combination of Telkom's shaping being overaggressive and full of issues, and 'busy times' traffic-wise .... ? I don't know.
It's been generally slow for about a week or two now though. Now that Telkom has stopped all the "abusers", I thought things were supposed to become faster (sarcasm, we know they're liars). Hmm .. here's a likely theory, maybe when Telkom tightened the screws November 1st, they also correspondingly slashed the amount of international bandwidth they buy, and we're all now being contended at an even higher ratio than before!
