I ordered something 3 weeks ago and haven't received it yet. The sender is being difficult and says they cannot give me a tracking number. I just get standard auto replies back. They have only sent me a shipment number which I can't seem to use on any track and trace site. Apparently they sent it via usps. Can anyone please advise what I should do?

You can try see if the shipment number correlates to any of the samples listed on: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input

Haven't personally used USPS but with international tracking numbers, you can't track through SAPO using that number. SAPO requires the local tracking number which is only assigned once the package is in the country and processed by SAPO. This number also won't be given to you, you will have to call them with the international number and they will then provide a local number.

That said, 3 weeks is not that long with regards to snail mail. I've had packages waiting 5-6 weeks at times, mostly all because of customs.

That said, my experience and for what it's worth, my 2c, avoid any postal service. Rather pay the extra money for a proper courier company except fedex... im still fighting with them over a package that has been sitting with customs for 8 weeks now.

ASL20180416ZA1342205....That's my shipment number. I've asked for a contact number I can call but haven't received a reply.... Holding thumbs....Paid almost R2000!
