Tracker Skytrax or Netstar Early Warning?

what do they do?track when stolen or warn you of traffic officers or camera's?

The latter is illegal and they'll give you a hefty fine!

Not really.
Its only illegal if you jam, but not detect.
By law you are supposed to know that you can be caught speeding (hence the camera signs on traffic signs).

Both are proactive vehicle tracking systems. I have been using Tracker Retrieve which requires you to phone in when your car is stolen.

Tracker Skytrax is better, i have both. Altech Netstar Early Warning System is great but the only problem is that people can disconnect your battery and do what they want... happened to me. Skytrax is connected to the car battery, so if someone tampers with it you will know...

Thank you for the info. Feature wise, it seems Skytrax is better and how has been their service? Do they occasionally call you for false alarms?
 
just to bump the previous threads, its illegal to interfere with police by blocking the device, NOT by detecting it. Not anymore than if you have someone with a pair of bino's in your passenger seat alerting you when they see them.

And skytrax annoys me cause the advertising makes it look like its sattelite tracking, and its not.

yes they actually call you for false alarms. if the vehicle is in a high risk area, they call, batter disconnected they call, etc

their service is excellent in my opinion.:D
 
Would just like to say that some of Skytracks advertising on their website is bull*****. Like the road side assistance. It also said our car was travelling on the N1 North which it was that morning on the way to work, but this was after 4PM
 
Not praising SkyTrax here because I have one, but it is streaks ahead of Altech Netstar's Early Warning System.

As for costs, if you insure with Hollard Pay-As-You-Drive, it's free as Hollard will pay the cost; I moved away from them though because I did too much mileage.

As for the other benefits, they definitely are there when you need them; the technician should have showed you the panic button that you need to press - that's all that you need to do because they can locate your car via GPS.
 
I just installed C Track. Does whole web based monitoring and reporting. Generates a SARS compliant log book showing business and private usage and they recover if stolen too!

We pressed the panic button - nothing happened.

Later speaked to a lady on the phone that told us they only work from 7AM :rolleyes:
