I know there are numerous tracking programs available for Blackberries and there have been discussions previous. My problem with these programs are as follow: As soon as the phone is stolen, the simcard is removed and replaced with another. The new simcard does not have BIS so the email option is not working. I can't send a SMS to the phone because the number has changed. :wtf: Another problem I have seen on my Bold 9000 is that if I put another simcard in the phone I can access all the info on the phone. No security?? Only secure if I activate the password thingy, but then it locks automatically (longest time=1hr) and I have to enter it EVERYTIME I need to use the phone. What I need is a program that sms's when a new simcard is inserted or if someone knows of another solution/program for theft.:erm:

I've notified the developers about this idea and other things that need to be intergrated into the applicaton - they are aware of this and have other ideas. They also busy on another app where it automatically locks your phone and in 10 minutes wipes out the handset if you do not input the right password. Just takes time and patients follow them on twitter

On our BES server we have the option to lock, erase and/or brick any BB that has been activated on the server.

Once they change the simcard it aint possible to do that feature as he/she that stole the phone won't have an activated data plan - I am sure by contacting each network given them the IMEI number they're able to tell you what was the last simcard in the handset.

Does that mean if I give them the IMEI number they can then tell me the cell number of the simcard in the handset?
And then i wonder if I could get them to activate the data line on that number? hmm
