I heard from a third party that tradepage one of the biggest iburst retailers is advising against getting iburst and rather waiting for wiMax.

Don't trust me tho phone em as a prospective buyer and put your feedback here.

bwahahahahaha :D Bet they werent planning on THAT becoming public knowledge! Good job digging that one out of the hat rodent ;)

That third party may have used to #xpsl# for them ... I neva said that

So let me get this right. Tradepages advised against getting "their" product and instead waiting a year or two to buy a product from their competitor? I doubt it myself. I would guess that what really was said was that wimax technology is "better" than iburst which would not be too surprising as iburst is a few years old now and in general technology improves with time.

is wimax out? if it is only available in 2 yers time it makes sense since some have two contracts to wait it out till wi max arrives. and who is to say wbs might not investigate utilizing wimax?

Iburst is def not their product its wbs's they buy accounts in bulk from wbs.

The same would happen with wiMax ie tradepage would buy and sell wiMax.

Don't know what you werr thinkin.

So you are saying telkom will use tradepages as a reseller? I dont think so.

Sure they sell telkoms adsl accounts.
Just as a matter of interest what exact wimax package was the guy from tradepages talking about to compare with iburst.

not a specific package but did mention speeds up to 10mbit and a lot less hasle predicted

you can stick any good technology in a local ISPs hands (like iBurst is a good technology in WBS' hands) and they'll find a way to stuff it up, no one will give you 10mbit access internationally for more than 5 minutes without a catch

Quite just like adsl can easily give speeds up to 8mbps, but not with telkom. When a package with details is launched and a roll out date given then its time to start talking about wimax, at the moment its all speculation and i have spent enough time waiting for telkom in the past.

Im sure glad I went for the month-to-month account - still had to fork out 2.8g'z for the modem though ;/

But if theres one thing Ive learnt is to never bind yourself to yearly (or more) contracts!
