Hi guys, I need some advice. Today travelling to family between Derby and ventersdorp for Easter I got pulled over by traffic cops for speeding in a 120 zone. On the radar it displayed 133kmph which is what I expected because the cruise control was set at 140kph. The office asked me to look at the radar image and confirm that I was over the limit and I said I know I was speeding, he should just write the fine. Moments later, a silver or white corrola was caught doing 150kph and was asked the same. That man and the traffic cop walked to the other cop vehicle to process his fine. At that moment I thought something fishy might be happening behind the car, so I decided to head over to the other car and see what was taking so long writing mine. I got to the car, and made polite conversation with the 150kmh gentleman, afterwards I approached the officer sitting in the car and she asked me for my personal details, which I gave and was asked to sign. Moments later, she handed what I thought was my fine and drove off. In the car I asked my wife what the damages were and she said it didn't say, I just thought she didn't know where to look. When we finally reached our destination an hour or so later, I realised that the traffic cops switch the offences. Apparently I was the one according to the paper work who travelled at 150kmh and now have to appear in court. In koster on the 25th June.
The question I have is, do those radar machines automatically take a screenshot of the vehicle with some sort of time stamp to prove that I'm not the guilty party?
