Traffic Fine

What's even more hilarious is that the PE traffic cops are not even averaging one fine a day per patrolling officer

since when is number of fines issued an indication of performance? In fact since when is number of fines issued an indication of safer roads?

Ouch, the PE courts suck. I know, I have to go there to get my fines reduced. Anyway, write a letter to the Public Prosecutor, don't bother with email, she doesn't even have a PC on her desk and she has like a Nokia 3310. lol. Well if you going to travel here to appear in court, the judge is a nice man, he would most prob through it out. One time I was sitting there and this girl came in with a R200 fine that she got near CT, she could only pay it at that place where she got the fine. Why aren't our traffic systems connected just out of interest sake?

Is that a bad thing? I'm not sure of the morals of our traffic system but I imagine they would make more money if their systems where connected...Isn't that what our traffic cops think is the point?

Ah but if you live in JHB and have a fine in PE you have to drive all the way to PE, thus the government(not police) get extra cash from fuel. Also it increases the chances that you will get another fine on your way there.

I had a fine in DBN once, I live in JHB, it was delivered and it picked up on that paycity website and all. I left it and 9 months later it was gone. :p

I was about to say and if you fly but then I realized that the government also have a slice of the SAA pie.

Actually, given the standard of driving in PE, it could certainly assist in making our roads safer but, the point I was trying to make, is why is the system backlogged if they're not issuing fines?

FYI there's a MacD's at the corner of Samantha Way & Cape Rd in PE where the traffic cops regularly eat and robot jumping (plus accidents) are the norm - they could easily write 10 tickets while eating lunch.

apologies. missed the point you were trying to make. Understood.
But I still stand by my point that number of fines issued is about making money and not safety (my opinion and not sure if fact or not).

But that would mean they had to stop eating lunch :D That ain't happening

That made me think of the old people who drive around walmer and on cape road  I want to run them off the roads. Applying JHB driving to PE roads means that you look like the chop whose in a hurry...Sigh I live in the wrong city.

Hahaha whenever I'm there on holiday I have to constantly remind myself I'm not in JHB and to calm down

Well I personally think I've earned my GP plates because when I'm in JHB with my EC plates, I get a lot of flack but I fit right in driving wise, I've driven there enough to think so. There are a lot of traffic cops and cameras in JHB tho, I hope I don't get into this guys situation with the late fines :erm:

Actually the municipality is bitching because the the traffic department isn't making any money:

Now you know why Barry Hilton lives here - PE's a great source of material for stand-up comedy :D
