I know the hearings are focoused on price and caps ...

What about shaping ... I'll be happy where I am with my 30Gb cap and 512 line if they got rid of the shaping ...

I know this has been discussed in detail already ... but they should not be allowed to restrict an already restricted service ...

ie: can't shape something that is already capped ...

Shaping

is probably an excuse for an attempt to choke any VoIP competition - my opinion...

I'm pretty damn sure that shaping was raised in the written submissions. Well - at least my submission had a good chunk dedicated to shaping, and it's adverse effect on the product offering as well as the fact that shaping can be utilised to make a bad contention ratio look good.

Methinks that all written points must be part of the ICASA findings document. Well - if it's not in the findings document, I'll query that.

VOIP Ports.

It was brought up, I am sure.

With Telkom the misers they are only offering 3GB for a thousand bucks, one would want to spend it as you wish.
ICASA has got the essence of our complaint.
Any further strangling of the product like trying to port out a useful tool like Skype will be met with the strongest action by MyADSL.
VOIP if Telkom hadn't heard is now legal. They would be stepping on the Minister's toes if they tried.
Not being the fundi on this topic, I do know that Skype uses Port 80 by default, which is the same port you browse HTTP with. So how are Telkom going to single out data on Port 80.
Besides that you can also change your port using the Skype menu.
