Has anyone else noticed that traffic decreases as the week progresses? Monday traffic is ridiculous, then Thursday and especially Friday the roads are clear... Anyone have an idea as to why this happens? Do people work 2/3 days a week or something?? I live in Centurion....

And on Fridays from 15h00 onwards the highways are congested. It happens everywhere. Some days are strangely a lot better than others, there seems to be no discernible pattern here.

People go to work on Monday, and sleep at the office till Friday when they go home to visit their families.

E-Tolls maybe..

But yeah, noticed the same thing, it's weird, the traffic patters have definitely morphed.

That's because there are people who work & live away from home, they leave on Monday mornings and come back on Friday afternoons for the weekend. It happens here in Dbn as well.

I've noticed that Monday mornings are well... Monday mornings. I find Tuesday mornings to be much worse.

Most of us, leave on a Monday for <insert overseas destination here>
Sometimes we leave on Sundays but usually for travel to Zim and further up north Monday is the morning we all trek to OR Tambo, and we all come back on Friday during the day.

I was talking about the exact same thing today. It's weird. Although Friday afternoons tend to be worse than monday mornings and people turn to vultures.
I've also noticed that what ever time I leave Centurion to come to the JHB CBD I always get here around 08:30

I've now been doing the South Coast into Durban run ( 50 km's each way) every morning for the past 4 years, and there is absolutely no way that you can predict what the traffic patterns will be like.

Exactly one month ago today, I was taken out by a woman who was hit by a truck, which then spun her across the road into me - that day we had been sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for 45 minutes and crawling along at 10 to 15 km/h before the truck hit her.
Today which is also a Thursday I was at work 35 minutes after leaving home.

It's the same going home - some days every bloody robot is grid locked and it can take me over an hour just to get out of Durban, forget the rest of the trip, and other days they all run smoothly.

One of the great mysteries of the Universe!! ;)

Jip very strange, moving on the N14 and going through Brakfontein Interchange you can see some days the N1 traffic crawling along at snails pace and standing all the way back to Makros direction, other days you can see the cars fly through with not a hint of congestion.

This week it has been Monday and Tuesday congested, Wednesday and Thursday uncongested.
