Hi All

I bought a trailer and the license disc on it expires in May 2017. I've completed the yellow form together with the seller. I have a few questions if anyone would be kind enough to assist me.

1. If the seller submits the yellow form, will my license disc still be valid up until May 2017 or will it be null and void?

2. Does the seller need to complete any part of the Blue form?

3. What exactly is checked when they do COR for trailers? The only problem I can see is a little rust here and there which I'm busy sorting out.

Thanks

I don't think rust will necessarily cause it to fail, as long as it's structurally OK, but it's still worth fixing.

When I took mine, the thing they were most worried about were reflectors and that yellow reflective tape. I'd buy some spare reflectors from Midas or Autozome (the ones with the double sided tape) and take them with. If he says you're missing one, then you can stick it on right there and avoid having to come back to have one or two reflectors checked.

Also, make sure the tyres are OK. Trailer tyres almost never go bald because they don't usually do all that much mileage, but they do get old and the rubber starts to crack.

Void. Once he submits the yellow form you have 21 days from the date of sale to register and license on your name.

2. Does the seller need to complete any part of the Blue form?

No.

Safety features... tyres, lights etc. They are not interested in cosmetics ie paintwork etc.
