One of my old transcend ram is faulty.

Its got lifetime warranty.

I brought it from cafe viva in JHB but they moved away to somewhere.

Anyone I can contact for RMA that u guys know about?

Lifetime does not mean its under warranty for ever, if the product is end of life so is your warranty.

It's the lifetime of the product, not you.
I think flash drives & memory cards have a lifetime of two years... So even tho the packaging says Lifetime Warranty, it's actually 2 years - or whatever the lifespan of the product is.

The lifetime warranty means, as long as it is still manufactured, it is under warranty. PC133 memory is not being made anymore, but DDR is. So even if you bought both types on the same day, the DDR memory is still covered by the Lifetime warranty, but not the PC133.

Are you sure you can still buy transend ddr 400? i am not sure they will replace it man.

Must be of life by now as ddr2 is basically the standard and pretty soon i am sure we will ddr only being bought second hand.

Awesome...so who do I go to for RMA?

Or would i need to contact cafe viva in CT and ask if they would do it for me?

Give Rectron a call - they stock Transcend and may be able to help you with the RMA. They currently have stock of the Transcend® JetRam™ High-Performance 1GB DDR400 184-Pin Modules, so I'm sure they must be able to assist, or at least advise...

Branches in JHB, CPT, DBN, PLZ & BLM
JHB number is: 011 203 1000

Shot, finally something helpful :D

Even if it's out of production, Rectron or the shop should still be able to either replace it for you, or get a credit note of the last sale value for that product. I also recently had to return a faulty DDRI memory module, and was given a credit note since they don't stock it anymore. Since I'm a dealer I just used the credit note for something else, and told the client it's time to upgrade in anycase :)

Phone Rectron in anycase and explain it to them. That product is still under warrentee, regardless of who sold it to you, and Rectron for that matter is still liable for the replacement of it then, since they're the distributor.
