Hi There.

If I currently have funds on a contract package that is expired and I want to convert the package to prepaid , will my current airtime value be transferred to prepaid?

Thanks

Michael

With Mtn, short answer: No. Previously cancelled two contracts with them. My last one is due to expire on the 26 of this month. Then off to telkom prepaid.

Strange - I was on an MTN contract for years and eventually when I requested to be 'upgraded' to prepaid when the contract ended I got told to that I would forfeit my unused minutes/sms/data that had accumulated a Rand value of over R3k (according to MTN).

I decided based on MTN's suggestion to just let the contract run month to month and then try use up all the carry-over before switching to prepaid. After one month I decided screw-it and requested to be moved to prepaid, got the same 'warning' but I said go ahead regardless. A day later I was on prepaid and when I checked my balance I had zero minutes/sms/data BUT I had over R2k credit in Rand value so something definitely carried over.

It was probably a 'mistake' by MTN :D

If I purchase data bundles with my remaining funds would that be carried over. I don't know how to spend over 1k airtime???

You can not buy bundles with the allocated airtime they will bill it extra on the account.

Also I recently moved from top up to prepaid and I lost all my airtime but they just left me with R10 airtime on the sim after the migration.
