hi guys, how can i use my router to transmit a tv signal ? or what will be the best way to transmit a tv signal wireless-ly ??? and it should not only be tv signal, but also the signal from a dvd player and computer... all must go to a tv about 10 meters away but i cant use any cables... thanks

well, depends what band you want to transmit in. a standard analogue TV channel takes about 6 MHz (excluding guard bands). if you want digitally, should take up significantly less. There probably are RF transmitter/receiver units for this on the market but in SA you'll have to look at 2.4 GHz since the 900 MHz was given to GSM (thanks icasa...). So the 2.4 GHz ISM band is your lowest option im afraid unless you want to get really low quality signal then you could maybe use 868 MHz. Just remember, 2.4 GHz is where everything is these days, from bluetooth to microwave ovens to WiFi. Personally, I would build my own transmitter receiver pair but try stay away from the 900 MHz ones (open band in the USA) since you could kill your phone reception or at worst have the fuzz at your door.

+1
Some years ago I used something similar. I plugged it into the rca out connectors of my video player and the tv channel, dvd or video play back that could be seen on your video play back channel (preferred ch 8 on tv) could then be picked up by any amount of tv's by just searching for the signal.

This device seems a bit different but I think it basically does the same thing.

Ellies also sell an add-on unit, basically another one of the receivers, so that more than one TV can pick up the signal. Ofcourse this means that all TVs will see the same thing but I'm sure that's what the thedutchman was after.

Just remember that if you're watching porn then you're going to get nabbed if someone mistakingly switches to your channel. :D

well the whole idea is to connect the mini apple pc, the digital receiver and the dvd player on it... and i dont think those ellies machines will be able to do that

Then get a source selector and feed the output from that into the transmitter. You then need to select the source you want to transmit.
