TransUnion vehicle valuation report

Hi,

I see TransUnion have a vehicle value report for R10, so add your car's details and it gives a report of retail and trade value. I know its an estimate, but are their reports and values more or less correct?

thats the official book value like what the dealers use, not an estimate.

not that its of any use these days, ever since webuycars came along its a bidding war between them all to see who can pay you the least money ignoring the book value

Now fancy that! Technological Progress, Information Age and all that.

Interesting topic. Transunion is fairly accurate for most vehicles. But inaccurate for a large percentage.

It is a very intricate and complex topic. Sometimes they are wrong in the wrong direction and visa versa.

Would not bother with their reports:
1) Will not sway a dealer who is more concerned about their individual supply and demand.
2) For most cars, it is easy enough to see from online listings what they are going for. Transunion also does not account for minute details of options (which never end up counting for much anyway)
3) They provide this kind of info and go quiet when you ask for your money back. R0 for a 2016, 55000 km Toyota:
