So I'm having an op and my leg will be almost fully extended - so no bending.

Is there anyway I would be able to take a domestic flights down to Durban from Jhb?

Yeah. But i'm going to be in pain and that's a long drive. Its an option, I'm just trying to avoid it.

Thought it's like 250km or something. If u took a cruise down wouldn't it be more comfortable for you?

Yes, you can. Make sure you get the aisle seat in the emergency exit row with your eina leg on the aisle side.

They will try to move you but insist on staying there as you are not immobile!

Risky. I guess I should call the airlines. I was thinking the new mango seats have a lot of leg room. Or possibly sit in the first row.

Depending on the plane that first row is not a good idea!!

Doubt they're going to let someone with a broken leg anywhere near an emergency exit. You need to be fit to assist in the event of an emergency.

Chances are if you can't bend your leg they're going to require you to book extra seats - that is if they let you fly at all.

Just get a wheelchair and use their assistance services. You won't be the first person with a broken leg to ever board a flight.

I was about to say the OP is SOL but I forgot about the wheel chair service. Good idea!

Wheel chairs are fine but what's going to be done to seat him? Buying out a row of three seats might do it but that's 3x fares.

But you will be the first person to board ..... and the last to get off.

I was on a flight to zim dec with a cast but could bend at the knee, wheelchair through the airport and a cripple truck to the plane.

Not being able to bend at the knee will cause problems, best call and make sure. You also won't be allowed to fly for 14 days after the op
