Felt it here in JHB CBD about 30 mins ago. Lots of people ran outside and me and my wife just realised a few minutes into it what is happening. She wants us to move out of this death trap building.

Felt it here in Elardus Park Pretoria east for around 30 - 40 seconds, first thought I'm going crazy, then thought my new puppy is humping my chair, then realized what's going on.

Reports on Twitter says we must chil though, it's just zuma reshuffling some provinces.

#Tremor sways buildings in Durban

Durban -Earth tremors, emanating from an earthquake which reportedly struck Botswana at about 7.40pm last night, were widely felt in Durban, Johannesburg and other parts of Southern Africa.

The Mercury was inundated with reports on social media and telephone calls about the tremors that had buildings swaying. North Beach residents said they it was a scary experience when buildings started to move, with some people hysterically running out of their buildings.

A man who lived on the 13th floor of a block of flats said it was a terrifying experience. "It felt like the whole building was swaying."

Another resident, Mike Bloxham, said he had been at his desk writing a report when he felt the tremor. He said, “The report now has lots of squiggles.”

Hell, felt the tremor here at the Durban harbor too. It was indeed terrifying. Grabbed the kids and made for the staircase as fast as we could. Did not really trust these new buildings and all the shoddy work en BBEEE inputs that went into erecting them. So, was quite concerned with safety when it felt we were leaning towards the harbor. At the end of the evening, the building at least survived.
