Trendnet routers?

What are the opinions/experiences etc of these routers, access points etc? I saw then at Makro and they are a fair bit cheaper than the bigger name brands.

Also how much better is N than G series? I understand it gives better range and speed but is it necessary in a flat on a 384k line? Surely it is overkill?

Overkill if you only use it for internet... If you plan to stream HD video content using the wireless router, it might be a good option.

Depending what your're doing I had major issues with ftp on one of those n routers from trendnet (I actually brought it back to the makro because it was so unstable with ftp while normall browsing didn't give any issues) If i plugged my pc directly into my my wimax ftp returned to normal so it was clearly something on the trendnet. Plugged it in again on the trendnet router and my ftp was screwed again.

Thanks. I hear what you say about HD. No need just yet but who knows what the future holds. The N router was about R 400 more.
