I've got a TRENDnet TEW-658BRM that doesn't allow me to set the year past 2012. I'm not sure what's causing this exactly. It was working fine until I started getting some frequent wireless dropping, I decided to upgrade the firmware to the latest firmware which claimed to improve wireless stability. Please note that this firmware came out this year.

So from what I can tell the router fails to form a PPPOE connection which in turns prevents me from accessing the net. Any advice on what I can do? I'm not sure if the date is the culprit for the connection issue but I know from past experiences on this router that it wouldn't connect unless the date was correct.

Well the world was suppose to end around then. I have the 635 model so no help unfortunately. Have you tried setting up the NTP to auto update the date and time? You can try their support page, but i'm still waiting for feedback on their source code and gave up. There is on my model a serial port on the PCB that you can use to hack a linux console. You can also go look at openwrt etc as some models are supported.

I have the same problem and see that a firmware update was issued last month. I have downloaded it but not installed as yet.
Have you resolved your problem?"
The loocal support is non exisrent and I ended up with a call to India as I was unable to download the instructions. Adobe said that the file was corrupt.
