Hi,

Just to make sure.

1. Did you unpack/unzip/rar the the firmware file, it comes mostly in a packed .zip file
2. If so, NEVER update firmware over WiFi - connect it straight to the router with via lan cable and make sure you can ping the router.
3. Power off the router and back on - then ping again to make double sure. Also from the Dos/command prompt - run ipconfig /all - make sure of the following that matches the router internal ip:
Default Gateway
DHCP Server
DNS Servers

This is just very basic troubleshooting - if all matches from your PC/LAPPY - > locate the folder where you unzipped the FW > select the file and update.

If else fails try another Browser.

Ok thanks for that.

I tried firefox, chrome and IE. all of them give the same problem "The connection was reset" page or in IE it says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

any other ideas? it there a way i can maybe access the router and upgrade firmware besides the default way?

Crap router imo.
I downloaded the update saved it and then installed it. No wifi interference.
What version you running and which is the update?
I've updated twice in the hope of getting stability but to no avail.

Hi there, sorry that you still stuck with all the info.

I'm not quite familiar with these types 'off the shelf routers', but did my fair share by "sledge-hammered" t-net routers a few times.

1. Overheating when under relative load -1
2. Random WiFi packet drop_seq_flows -2

The trendCHIP(Modem_module) core doesn’t like or clear fragmentation bad_tcp_checksums, just a few to mention.

One more thing, when logged into the webUI of the router, there should be a setting "reboot router" - issue that command or click to reboot - if nothing is broken it should cycle through the booting process and present you a login prompt again - if nothing happens -> something is a miss ! either the NVRAM_space_alloc is still stuck with the older FM.

If all fails you can issue a 30-30-30 hard reset (google it)
Still stuck >> Take it back and get something more decent. ;)

Good luck,
Regards,

Hi Reign - I sent you a PM - let me know re: FW - and other options.

Regards,

Hi Reign

I upgraded my one from 1.02.B12 by downloading the subsequent upgrades and renaming the image files all to the 1.02.B18 file name, including the FW1.03.B06. I was unable to upgrade to the latest FW1.03.B09 by renaming the image file. Maybe try to rename it. It is risky though, and you could end up with a bricked router.

The firmware upgrades did not fix my problems though, poor wifi and the date still does not go past 2012.
