Anyone used the company above they are installing Wireless in our complex upto 50MBps for R600 but not sure how it would perform being so cheap have called the owner according to him the package has no FUP they will be using Ubiquity in a mesh setup

Any info for someone that has used the company before?

Thanks!

For that kind of money, get it installed and give us some feedback. ;-)

They only starting installs at 10 May will give feedback after then most likely mailed them about a custom package but really would be surprised if Ubiquity can push 50MBps on mesh

Why don't they install a cable to each apartment. Putting APs in the hallways never works well. Not saying it won't work but one moment you have full bars and the next you have 1 bar sitting in your bedroom and you can only get 2mbps.

If i had to guess Body Cooperate they are pretty full of shate and refuse to have any CPE installed even by flat owners i have requested to have a small lte box installed behind DSTV Dish and they flat out refused even with neat trunking. No idea how this WISP got a deal with them

Okay feedback time.

So massive issues didn't have LOS to the tower for a Point to Point link so a relay has been built but will be configured sometime soon hopefully tonight!

Connecting to the normal hotspot at the moment due to going through buildings the connection is choppy getting anywhere from 2MBps-50MBps. When the connection is abit better its great 10ms local ping - 158 uk. Confirmed no FUP for my class of account that is business. Owner asked R250 extra every month to rent a slot on the tower for the PTP point..seems fair to me. Will provide more feedback once the relay is up and running.

At this stage if your are in a complex i would get your body corp to approach them as they know what they are doing but just abit behind on work at the moment. Currently they are serving Vredekloof Square and Bayfield Apartments. Soon to be in Sirrocco Villas as well.

Do you perhaps have there contact number. The landline number on there website is always engaged.

I live next to Vredekloof Square and pick up there wifi in my kitchen and would love to use there internet but have a few questions before i register and pay the monthly fees.

I'm planning on using a wifi repeater to extend the signal throughout my whole place. By the looks of things you log on through there website and think that might be a problem with a wifi repeater, i might be wrong as i haven't use one yet.

Thanks

So time for feedback:

Have had the line for 2x weeks now on a Point to Point link running on 2x Litebeam AC-23dbi the link itself is syncing at 655MBps with -31 Signal have adjusted the TX power to lower signal. No downtime and the speeds are amazing i am on the 50MBps package:

1785925

Had a Youtube 1080p live stream open with test running.

Pingtimes CPT: 9-13ms
Pingtimes JHB: 19-31ms
Pingtimes Google.com: 26ms
Pingtimes UK: 158ms
Pingtimes US: 260ms
Twitch: 1080p60 (Source) No lag
Youtube Stream: 1080p60 No Lag
Youtube 4k: No Lag

With Twitch i can stream with no dropped frames so pretty happy it works for P2P/Gaming/Twitch Streaming all golden!

Will report back in a few months to see if it gets better/stays the same

Hi everyone,

Do you guys know if this company has coverage is the Point Waterfront area in Durban, KZN?
Looking to get something like this installed at my home in an apartment complex. I'm positive the Body Corporate will allow it as we've all been looking for a reliable provider.

For the time being it seems to be limited to CPT only. you are more then welcome to drop by their website to ask https://www.tribalnetworks.co.za/

Update:

Well it was good while it lasted here is a chart showing downtime over the last week:
graph.php.jpg

Its been ongoing for awhile with no end in sight it seems just as i praise the uptime too!

give them a chance!

Indeed, turns out it was an equipment issue the litebeam that is powering the Point to Point connection is giving some odd issues even though the main tower is live it drops at random for a few minutes and comes back no matter the weather or such, voltage is also stable on the unit. Most likely will have to be replaced otherwise speed has been great aside from the slight downtime now and then due to faulty equipment on my side.

So far uptime has gone up massively think i was not down once this month. ISP kept promises of no FUP. quite good for the price! gaming has been a bliss

If the graph is too small:
Usage 2.01TB

From 08/01/2017 - 08/15/2017

5ms Local CPT
162ms EU (Where i game mostly)
