Hi,

I have recently bought an LG 19" widescreen monitor. I am having trouble setting the resolution in XP to a resolution that works with the monitor. Graphics card is a SiS 661 or something, I assume it onboard. I have downloaded the latest display drivers. I can choose some widescreen resolutions, however it either squashes is or it makes the screen too big for the monitor. A piece of paper that came in the box says that the complete resolution is 1440x900 but I am not able to choose this resolution. At the moment I'm just running it on a 4:3 resolution but everything is streched and some things (especially text) is a little blurred.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I can't be 100% sure but I reckon your onboard graphics doesn't support this resolution...
Can you post options you do have? Perhaps there's another widescreen res you can pick...

AFAIK tho, if you run your LCD in anything but the native res (yours is 1440x900) it will be blurry

Your onboard graphics chip is incapable of displaying the native resolution of the monitor. You wil need to purchase a graphics card and fit it. Ensure that it is capable of 1440x900 - should say so on the packaging.

You need a graphics card. Doesn't have to be too expensive. Most new ones support that resolution

There are other widesceen res' but they don't seem to work with the screen.

Thanks for the help I will try get another graphics card.
