Johannesburg - Eight men who allegedly hijacked a truck carrying imported computers were arrested in Midrand on Tuesday, Gauteng police said,
The men hijacked the truck loaded with over 500 imported computers near the OR Tambo International Airport early on Tuesday morning, Warrant Officer Matthews Nkoadi said.
Police traced the vehicle to the industrial part of Ga-Rankuwa where they found the men off-loading the computers from the truck.
Three men jumped into a BMW and fled.
A Hyundai Getz, an Iveco panelvan, a Kia sedan, a plasma television, Sony Home Theatre Systems and four pairs of police uniforms were recovered.
The men were charged with hijacking, possession of stolen property and cars and the illegal possession of police uniforms and firearms.
Police were still searching for the three men who escaped.
