Truffles in SA - where?

Anyone know where to get truffles in SA? I know there were folks cultivating black truffles near Howick, but where are the distributors / dealers?

I usually get mines from family members bringing them from France.

Can't recall seeing any even in high end delis in JHB.

Last I checked the were being cultivated in WC, KZN & MP

Back then prices were over R20k per kg...

Family friends of my folks grow some in the WC.

Doesn't help to the thread... but there is so much truffle stuff in SG. Truffle oil and bacon pizza, truffle fries are the most common.. its so delicious

So I tried these, thinly shaved over scrambled eggs. Absolutely no flavour at all !! there was a hint of mushroom flavour then chewing a piece, but otherwise absolutely nothing. very underwhelming.

Yeah also bought those a couple months back. Its like eating tofu no flavour what so ever, just crunchy outside and mushy chewy inside. I stick to truffle oil now.
