Trying to play this game on the internet... but always get kicked off servers for high ping.. is there anyway to get my ping down.. im on a 4 meg ine, wit telkom shaped account...

sorry wrong section i think.. mods plz move :)

Buy a webafrica unshaped prepaid. (much lower pings)

U can purchase say 1gig or 2gigs of unshaped data for gaming, and use it over 2-6months

i was thinking that.. but i wanna try it first.. even if its say a 100 meg test account... dont wanna buy it and still get kicked.. :)

Well if you have a pirate copy, it's no surprise (not saying you do, just a possible reason).

Most people use hamachi to connect with each other (ZA - - > ZA) because international is unplayable..

C&C3.ZA IRC Channel: irc://irc.shadowfire.org/cnc3
Hamachi Network: c&c3.za (pass: c&c3.za)

i am using an original.. i get kicked due to ping hey :)

I can play against local no problems.. even against my ibirst buds :)

where can you find all the local hamachi servers ...
plz

Unshaped is your only option for international, and I don think that its a guarantee either.

As a general question what sort of latency does one get on unshaped playing these games internationally??

I have no problems playing international my connection shows in the yellow which says it’s a "good" latency I would assume it’s in the 300-400 ms range. I have no lag while playing so I really don’t know what the problem is, and the reason why the guys play locally is because most of them have a cracked copy of the game, the online part of the game is really nice, with ladders and ranked matches.

300-400ms latency is impossible for games like Battlefield2 and Quake and just about any FPS.

For those kind of games you need at least 50ms or lower to be happy otherwise the game is going to lag like crazy. Some guys get around 80ms and are still within the "ok" boundary. Anything over and you are at a serious disadvantage with the game.

Strategies arent as bad with latency. And if its a turn based game then latency is the least of your worries.

But I play more intensive games online so if unshaped is still going to be over 100ms internationally then I cant see the value in it.
