Hi, was wondering if I can get some advise. Back in July TT connect had a show your interest tent setup for Fibre and I signed to show interest. Soon after TT connect contacted me and wanted to send someone to look at what would be required for the installation despite the fact that they had not even begun trenching. I agreed and a technician came out to have a look. He informed me that because it was under 12 meters there was no installation fee. It was about 8 meters and there was already conduit in place so no trenching or anything was required. He drew up a plan on a TT connect pre installation form. I have a copy of this but I refused to sign it as they hadn’t begun trenching yet. There are terms and conditions on the back but there in no mention of installation costs.
I was then contacted in September after they had finished trenching to do the installation. 3 teams came on different days with the last guy a week ago. Each team spent about 10 minutes doing their bit of installation as it was only 8m and everything was ready for them.
When the last team finished I signed a post installation form which just states there was no damage to the property and the installation was neat etc. The same terms and conditions are on the back and there is no mention of installation fee.
Today I have received an invoice from them for R1725. I was well aware that vumatel charge this but the first TT connect technician said there was no installation cost under 12 meters. Nothing I’ve signed shows this cost. I’ve only signed one form that said no damage to property. I can’t even see the cost mentioned on their web page. Different isps have different installation fees with TT connect but I never signed with an isp it was done direct with TT connect.
What do you make of this. Would you just pay it or argue it. There is nothing I’ve signed anywhere that mentions this cost.
