Hi everyone! :)

I just got a LCD display panel and because it has no tuner it gets bundeled with a DSD1110 model DSTV decoder and smart card. Now I have not activated the card yet and my dish not up yet (Planning to in a couple of months) but want to tune into the SABC channels and SABC with the decoders UHF function and the antenna plugged in.

Somehow I got past the "Scanning for signal" phase and to the UHF tuning screen but then had to leave my house in a hurry to go watch the rugby (and for some reason pulled the power on the decoder).

Now I can't remember how I got to that screen so that I can at least catch the news at night on SABC :p

Anyone got some tips?

That UHF "tuning" screen is to set the UHF output channel of the decoder. I am afraid there is no UHF tuner in your decoder either. An external tuner would cost you more than a dish. I suggest you get a dish and activate the card for DSTv lite... or easy view or whatever it is called...

Easyview at R20 per month is an option but then you must install a dish. Else, you should plug a terrestrial antenna directly into the tv and tune the tv. If you don't have a terrestrial antenna, if you're lucky, i.e. living a few km from a tower, just plug a metal coat hanger into the antenna (rf) input of the tv.

He said in the OP that the LCD does not have a tuner.

Now I understand, no tuner in decoder aswell.

DSTV Lite here I come :) Any idea how quick they are with activation? Do I have to go in to the Multichoice Office or can I just phone?
