If I recalled, I needed a visa for my pre-covid times trip.So I pop over to the Turkey eVisa site to get my eVisa and get this?

Surely this cannot be right?

Thinking I might just use an alternative site.I think there are a few other sites? I think there are a couple that offer the e-Visa option, not just the official site.
Or you need to complete a questionnaire in Afrikaans![]()
Site is up and running but their developer clearly has down syndrome ...do I now need a paper VISA which will take how long to get or is site down?

So @Snyper564 do you now have to apply at the Turkish embassy directly? Did you figure it out yet?site has now updated to this
South Africa: Ordinary passport holders are required to have visa to enter Türkiye. Official passport holders are exempted from visa for their travels up to 30 days.
seems that way and if thats the case cancelling the flight as police clearance is needed which takes 3 months etc to get.So @Snyper564 do you now have to apply at the Turkish embassy directly? Did you figure it out yet?
Agreed. Turkey was a great and convinient country to travel to due to the easy evisa process but I am not sure I’ll spend massive amounts of efforts to go visit.seems that way and if thats the case cancelling the flight as police clearance is needed which takes 3 months etc to get.
In short.
May as well shut all tourism from SA to Turkey...
agreed that police clearance is a killer hope they change it and quick hopefully its an oversight and back to on arrival.Agreed. Turkey was a great and convinient country to travel to due to the easy evisa process but I am not sure I’ll spend massive amounts of efforts to go visit.
Very sad that they stopping this process.
For sure. Sorry for the hassles.agreed that police clearance is a killer hope they change it and quick hopefully its an oversight and back to on arrival.
This is moving so far in the wrong direction. Turkey as a travel destination for me now is a no no. Their visa requirements are more onerous than schengan
Did Hong Kong loved it might just use Turkey as a base to pop off for next destination as we fly from Serbia to Turkey. But will see. Also have friends in Georgia so thats a possibility too.For sure. Sorry for the hassles.
Hopefully it is just an oversight.
The other option is Thailand or Tbilisi as you don’t need a visa.
Singapore also an option and Hong Kong as well.
