Those of you who played "Lords of Midnight" or "Doomdark's Revenge" might be familiar with the scenario.
This is a free Turn-based Multi-User Strategy game. But, beware, it is not as easy as it sounds!
At the beginning of the game, you have one character under your control, and you can recruit armies and lords to your side. This is where things start to get interesting (and hairy) as you can now control them all...
Think of it as a chess game in 3D...
You'll have to register twice, once on the forums (where you can get help and support, and ask others to play with you) and once again on the game front-end itself. This is to discourage spammers.
The people over there are extremely friendly, and you'll get invitations soon enough. First start off with the training invitations, and from there, you can progress to the more, difficult scenarios - and believe me, things can get difficult with up to 8 players playing against each others, each commanding his/her own armies/lords and so on...

Because bandwidth usage is so minimal you can play it without fear of capping yourself

And, last, but not least, a big thumbsup to Mike Singleton for creating the games "Lords of Midnight" and "Doomdark's Revenge"....

Have fun!
I do hope to see you there. I use the same nick as on this forum.

What are the System Requirements? said:Midnight/MU is a web-based application, so you should only need a browser that supports the following:
- (X)HTML as defined by the W3C
- Cascading Style Sheets as defined by the W3C
- Javascript
A fast Internet connection (e.g. broadband) is recommended. M/MU can be very sluggish when using dial-up modems during busy periods
Note: This is not bandwidth intensive, and is playable on a 64k ISDN dial-up link.
Although Midnight/MU is designed to be browser-neutral as far as possible, it does render best in Mozilla-based browsers, since these are what have been used to develop with. A few very minor features do not work in IE6, due to it's incomplete support for CSS (for example, buttons do not change colour when the mouse hovers over them)
The following combinations of browser and operating systems have been tested and are known to work:
- Mozilla Firefox 1.0 upwards on all platforms
- Mozilla 1.2 upwards on all platforms
- Netscape 7.x upwards on all platforms
- Opera 7.x upwards on all platforms
- Internet Explorer 5.05 upwards on Windows 2000 and Windows XP
- Internet Explorer 5.00 on Windows 98 SE
- Apple Safari on MacOS X and Windows
The following will definitely NOT work:
- Any Netscape 4.x or earlier on any platform
- Internet Explorer 3.x or earlier
- Web Explorer on OS/2
- Any text-only browser, such as Lynx
Have fun!
