Turn your smartphone into a card machine

potential for wholesale fraud. Many business owners would need to sit up and pay attention. Some enterprising staff may very well see this as a way to take their share of the spoils using this method

I foresee problems when it asks for PIN.. simply put I don’t trust a mobile phone for secure pin entry ie. Keyboard or screen capture from Android or other spyware.. who is gonna take that risk? (Before it’s asked, even Android based pos have a hardware processing split & o/s split for secure and non-secure business processing both of which require cert keys to load).

What people don’t often realize is that the keys or screen on pos need to either dissipate or keep at an even level heat such that infrared doesn’t help too much. albeit the screen based keyboards try to also shuffle numbers (Absa pebble? Does this with keys too) which I am semi convinced helps observers more than user who also now has to find the key they need.

I guess they could do a push auth via secure app but then again, I don’t like inserting my pin in my own banking app on my own phone.. see my point? So how are they gonna get auth?
