Anyone know anyone in Pretoria that repairs turntables?

What turntable? Belt drive? Direct drive? Often best to import the parts and try to fix it yourself in my experience though. I haven't seen or heard of any turntable repairers for many years now...:(

It's an old old radio, still in a cabinet with a SW radio built in.
Looking to get the turntable going again so can play a few lps i've still got.
I know stone age, but sometimes is lekker...

That's a belt-drive. In all likelihood the belt is what has gone. Open it up yourself. I really don't think you're going to find turntable specialists in this day and age, and you are not going to come across parts vey easily. You might have to fashion something for yourself to fix it. They're quite simple machines when you open up a belt drive system, but the size of the belt is vital, as is the tension.

Tricky, but fun to play around with...

There's an oke in the Moot that may be able to help you. If you're interested, I can see if I can track his particulars for you.

I do agree with the other comments though, you should be able to fix it yourself if you can find the belt (assuming it's the belt and not the motor).
