Tutorial DRIFTA on ANY Android Device

nickza
im so glad u got it working
and glad to see other ppl are getting it to work, now i just need to get my drifta from my bro.so i can start using it

Seems to be working for me with my SGS that is rooted. Don't have a good signal though so nothing is playing

Another Idea...

Any way to tell the device that the drifta wifi signal is NOT an internet connection. Its a bit frustrating becuase when the wifi is on and connected to something, the device turns off the mobile data, so things like whatsapp, emails etc wont come through when you are watching DstvMobile...
Any thoughts?

First answer this... can you connect to 2 wireless networks at the same time? That is effectively what you are trying to do...

Works brilliantly with Desire HD, but not Galaxy 10.1v

Yip, Same problem with 10.1v ... going to test with 10.1 stock now...

EDIT: Exactly the same behaviour with the 10.1 stock (get the channel selection, choose a channel, crashes when it seems to try display the picture)

I have a galaxy tab GT-I9000 (7"), will I need to root my phone?

I can confirm that there is not Drifta signal in East London. Was the in december, with my brand new drifta, and there is no signal.
Its basically like a signal similar to the one you use to get sabc, and etv... for example. The tech is way off that that. But yea, thats how it works.
Check out their site for more details, but last time i checked, there was no signal in EL.

Not really because when I am the office, I can plug my drifta into my pc and watch on a secondary screen, and have my phone connected to the wifi.
When I am on the road however, if I watch the drifta, the phones wifi is connected to it, making the device automatically disable the 3g (because it thinks the wifi is an internet connected), therefor disabling the ability to get whatsapp messages and emails.

Had I known the coverage map existed I probably would have thought to have a look at it. Now that I have had a look at it, I see East London is not covered. PE is though :( Thanks for the link, even if it was given in a bitchy tone.

I guess this means you going to have to move to a real city... :)
