Really annoying issue, keen to hear some thoughts

Bought some vizia smart plugs from takealot. Initial setup works fine. I have one of them controlling some leds in my garage via a timer. But it dont know why it seems to lose the toggle settings after a while

For instance i set the leds to come on at 6am and off at 9pm. Works fine for a day or two then for some reason on the app the toggle goes from enabled to disabled for no apparent reason, which means the plug stays on

Any idea why?

Are you using stock or custom firmware?
It sounds like the switch loose connection to their cloud.

First thing I do with any iot device I own is flash custom firmware such as: https://tasmota.github.io/docs/Tuya-Convert/

I don't want to be dependent on some "cloud" "somewhere"

All stock... ok so a wifi issue could be the cause?
Probably their cloud rather than your Internet, but can be either really. I tend to flash Tasmota on my devices and use Home Assistant on a Pi to prevent this exact issue of being dependent on someone else's cloud.

It is a bit more set up but much better in the long run.

Your one seems defective, have you considered informing takealot of the issue and requesting a new one. As they do have policies to assist with a product that has any firmware issue.

Very possible.

Nothing wrong with their cloud. I have 8 Tuya devices with stock firmware and on schedules and they work just fine.
Yep mine all seem fine.

I had an Ultralink plug that lost connection regularly, but it simply went offline when it lost connection.

Replaced it with a CBI plug point rather. So far stays online.

At OP does it do this with all of the plugs?

Try swopping them out or doing the same routine on the others in a different location.

Figure out it it’s a faulty unit or the location that is a problem.

I echo this, I just set up a proper mesh on my entire house also nb for the solar goodies and have no issues at all.

Moved a few of the plugs around and the issue is persisting. Happening on all 4 plugs i have. Right next to router, far from router, doesnt matter.

Overnight the "enabled" toggles keep on flipping to the "disabled" state. Specifically on timer settings

To this by itself

As far as I remember if you set the frequency to Once (like yours), then it will run once and then auto disable. So just click on the schedule block to get to the setup and change the frequence to every day (Mon,Tue .....)
