does tv frequencies work like fm frequencies i.e. 5fm is 98.00 in jhb.

if so, what is the frequencies for all the available channels in the jhb area

the reason i am asking is because my leadtek tv2000xp expert tv tuner card, is not picking up the channels as i hoped. i even got myself some bunny ears arials to see if it improves. it did somewhat, but its still not even close to prefect (and by perfect i mean compared to a normal tv that is not connected to an external arial)

I have a TV2000 to and believe me not the bestest of cards, i couldnt pick up a single channel with bunnys, even now that it linked to the tv antenna outside it still doesnt give 100% clear image. You still get that snowy efect, think the hardware interfere with the signal

Had the same problem here.

Went user to a USB tuner - much better! But i think the Firewire ones will kick A$$

Well since sentech is responsible for transmitting those signals you can go to their website to find the channel numbers.

Their stupid site uses frames so I can't give you a link directly to the page.... but you can click on frequencies in the top menu and i'm sure you'll figure it out from there :D

Have a look at the "RF Setup" page, it's designed for both TiVo and Windows HTPC users.

The page links to the channel numbers by area, converts them to the relevant frequency and a can generate a registry script to update your Windows settings to make use of the relevant frequencies

thx ambo and tivo...got the frequencies from sentech, and then used some or other site to convert them as apparently we use it similar to the UK

find it here

so use the sentech numbers with this page and you will also have you freq

but

tivo's link makes it far easier
