Hi

Just wanted to find out. I have paid my tv licence every year for the last 10 years. This year I am tired of paying for a service that does nothing for me and I am tired of paying to an entity that just wastes money. Should I pay this renewal? What are the consequences of not paying as they have sent me 2 sms messages saying have i forgot to pay and I must pay before a certain date. I don't want to cause any damage to any credit ratings etc but I am tired of this rubbish.

They are sending threatening communications to those who need to pay up. Some people have said that they have been contacted by debt collectors. As much as I would not want to pay out of principle, I don't think it's worth the risk for R265.

Stopped paying last year. So far they have sent me a few SMS's and phoned me a few times. I keep telling them they can keep the money I "owe" them, but they do not seem to understand me. Been quiet the past 2 months.

Hi HvRooyen

and as far as you know no problems with them trying to affect your credit rating etc

Got another SMS yesterday after they'd been quiet for a month or so... VVM are proceeding...don't know wtf that means. Proceeding with what? ****tards.

I wonder if I can go after them for costs, and undue stress, when I submit all the proof in court one day of the multitudes of times i faxed and emailed the affidavit that SABC ignored.

They assume you forgot - fkem. Been a year and half since I "forgot". You should see the k@k they send me. Last year I "owed" them R165, this year it was R135 ... they can't even do proper math. Bunch of idiots.

As far as they're concerned I owe over 10 years worth of fees... they bug me every so often and if its an SMS or an email it gets deleted, if its a call they get told precisely where to get off.

I also paid for years and decided two years ago to stop paying. I get a few sms's and couple calls now and then but nothing Truecaller cant handle

Stopped paying mine 3 years ago... haven't had a peep out of them. Probably because they have a wrong number on file for me.
