TV Recommendations OLED/QLED...?

Hi All

Not sure if this is the best place for this, please move if not.

My LG LED has given up the ghost after 10 years, have been looking for an excuse to upgrade but as long as the old TV was ticking I couldn't really justify it. Now am looking at OLED in the 55" range, I know LG is that Standard so am looking at this

Any thoughts, alternative recommendations, warnings from peeps who have recently purchased a TV?

If you do want an LG, recommend you dont connect it to the internet at all then get a Android TV box and connect that to the internet instead.
 
For those recommending Mini-LED, assume something like this?

In cost, brighter rooms and no burn-in risk sure. Plus with dimming zones they can get really really close.

If you factor everything in, cost, ability to be used in brighter rooms and the number of dimming zones and no burn-in risk it's a definite competitor..

I am extremely happy with my TCL c6k..
 
And then of course there is the debate that most TV's are getting bigger, my previous TV was Full HD at 43", I thought 55" would still work as tho couch is about 2m away but obviously with higher res, that isn't as much of an issue so maybe can get to 65"..... :oops:

Recommended Distances by TV Size (4K UHD)
According to guidelines from Sony Support and Rtings:
    • 50-inch TV:
      • Mixed usage (30° field of view): 2.1 meters
      • Cinematic (40° field of view): 1.5 meters [1]
    • 55-inch TV:
      • Mixed usage (30° field of view): 2.3 meters
      • Cinematic (40° field of view): 1.7 meters [1]
    • 65-inch TV:
      • Mixed usage (30° field of view): 2.7 meters
      • Cinematic (40° field of view): 2.0 meters [1]
    • 75-inch TV:
      • Mixed usage (30° field of view): 3.1 meters
      • Cinematic (40° field of view): 2.3 meters [1]

So 55" is probably the sweet spot for my setup., will break out the tape measure tonight to make sure.

A screen can never be to big. Do you walk it a IMAX ands say... no to big for me.
Get the biggest one you can afford that fits the space where it's going to be placed.
