My tv screen has a bright spot. I presume the screen is burning out.

1. How long can I use it before it causes bigger damage
2. Is repair worth it

What TV is it? Pics?

Usually LED TVs go dimmer with darker spots or a dead backlight. OLED's also get darker areas with burn-in.

I have seen this before. The diffusion elements have detached from the reflectors. Its due to cheap manufacturing.

Happened to me as well. My DIY repair was not successful. Once disassembled, I could never get the layers to fit well together again. May be different from TV to TV.

Need to tell my newphew about it. Might fiddle with it

A nearly 2-year old 32" 4k ultra-HD Samsung monitor has a vertical green stripe one side and a red the other. About 1mm wide. Visible in all except white background

Cost R12k at the time

Samsung 50" UHD bought it in 2016. Here is an example pic - spot is always the same on the same area on the screen and about 2cm. And the top third of the screen is hot but the rest of the screen is cool.
