Hi,

Can anyone advise me what is the best way to capture HDMI input on my PC?

I don't neccessarly need a tv tuner card, i just want to record from an HDMI input, e.g. HDPVR.

My Radion graphics card does not support input.

Thanks
R

No simple solution. HDMI includes HDCP encryption which is specifically designed to stop you doing what you want to do.

There are solutions, but they're quite complicated.

Well you could so it like this:

HDPVR --> TV tunner card (not HDMI) and record with the software.

That would be the cheapest way.

Everything else will cost you a few grand.

Don't say that it depends on the TV card. Mine supports HDTV without HDMI. --> Hauppauge NovaS

You also get HDMI to component converters, which you can then record on your PC.

You retain the HD, and component output is not copy protected.

However, can't really think of anything on DSTv that is worth recording !!!

I'm looking for the same thing so I can upload GT5 races to youtube.
