When wall mounting, how far is the TV from the wall?

I know most TVs have side mounted HDMI ports - but what about power / ethernet / spdif?
Do they pose a problem?

The ports are usually recessed and the power cord should have one of those L-shape connectors. Depends from TV to TV, but if the TV is mountable then I'm sure they've thought of those things.

Looks like below.

HDMI seems fine and I need to see power at home - but the Ethernet?
You get L shaped Ethernet that I need to purchase - or would there be enough space?

I'm sure they have thought ; just double checking

You get right angle ethernet cables if your TV is really mounted flush against the wall, but even then you need a good 2cm gap to make it fit. I heard that those Samsung ultra-slim wall mounts create headaches for rear-connections as the TV is almost completely flush against the wall (hangs like a picture) - but I think even in that case, I would just bend the cable (as long as it does not break the connection).
