Twitch data leak reveals the platform's source code and streamer earnings

Lmao I wonder how the people who have donated to these top channels feel like now.

There are probably a few streamers who skimped on their tax obligations.

Yes, I am sure about that, but I am also sure that Amazon does proper reporting. Most top streamers are managed by talent agencies in any case, whom handle their taxes and so on.

That isn't much compared to what the top youtubers earn just on adsense

The chess people I follow (more on YouTube) never on twich come in at $700k
Nice.

You are not very smart if you let other people do your taxes for you. What is a talent agency qualifications in any tax or business related field?

I recognised kripp, day9 and asmon. The highest rated hearthstone youtuber is not even in the top 100 twitch streamer.

It depends, many content creators have been screwed over by talent agencies. Talent agencies have the means to enable content creators, but not all wholly manage their clients.

All you really need is a capable pc and internet connection.

There are many people out there who don't know how to manage themselves, neither have the means to create the content that they want to create. Not all content creators have the 'money' or setup, either.

There are many that stream from their phones exclusively and have over 500K subscribers. You don’t need an over the top setup.

Yes, it is entirely possible. It doesn't take away that many rely on talent agencies. Many content creators, collectively, run their own collective agency sharing resources.

It is a business model. Some abusive, others made content creators rich. MrBeast's talent agency has recently gone into venture business, and that is big, especially in the US.

As per my initial post, the earnings made through these agencies won't be contained within the Twitch leak, these are external contracts. All the top earners are signed to a talent agency. This is the entertainment business, it is the exact same agencies actors, actresses, sports people, etc. are signed to.
