Is twitch.tv lagging for anyone else? Even on low and mobile, it is impossible to watch.

I've bought 1GB from Axxess as well and the problem persists, even though Youtube works fine on both Telkom and Axxess.

EDIT: Axxess is a bit better. It does lag less, but still lags.

Try other regions. Change the "www" to something like "nl" or "en".

eg:

becomes

Thanks, but still lags. Telkom is definitely worse though. Can definitely notice a difference in page loads too. Have tried rebooting the router. Speedtest shows 2Mbps speeds and the router is also convinced its syncing at 2Mbps.

Check for exchange congestion. Generally if TI and another ISP isn't working well then you've got a serious problem on your hands...either bad line or bad exchange. Good luck.

But sites like streamallthis.me and Youtube work fine. Although the lag was better on Twitch around 11PM/midnight-ish.

EDIT: Also, this problem only started about 2 weeks ago.

same problem with streaming and axxess. From what I experience their fair usage policy is ridiculous. 6 months of shaping. In all fairness there are backbone issues with Telkom's recent upgrades but axxess has been shaping me before the Telkom upgrades

Maybe...twitch tends to shave things pretty close as to the tech can do vs what it tries to deliver. Youtube in contrast will happily drop you down to 144p automatically if it figures things aren't working out.

i.e. twitch is hyper sensitive to conditions.

Post a ping mybroadband.co.za -n 100 during the next hectic time & you'll see if there is exchange congestion or not.

I have had this same problem on and off (mostly on) for about 8 - 12 months. Telkom have been very unhelpful with this (Tried ranger / telkomza / social team/ calling helpline) and Not one person is able to help me out.

I did have some success with a VPN service for a little while, but that doesn't exactly fix the problem, it just works around it. I have also tried multiple accounts (Mweb / Telkom / Afrihost), and all produce the same result.

I have a few friends who are on the same exchange as me, and they don't have any problems with twitch. I am now being ignored on all Telkoms social channels, as no one seems to want to attempt to fix this problem.

I have actually given up, as I feel like I have run out of options.

I have moved to a different place and have no internet atm. Still waiting for Telkom to move my line. I'd love to see whether the problem will be fixed though.
