I'm surprised this hasn't made news here yet. This is at a mall we regularly visit.

POLICE have made a breakthrough after the theft of heavy-artillery military weapons, arresting two people in Kuils River.

The intelligence-driven investigation comprised several special police units, including criminal intelligence and the bomb squad.

On Wednesday, they arrested two men, believed to be linked to the 28s prison gang, outside the Zevenwacht Mall in Kuils River. In a dramatic swoop, two minibuses filled with police officers blocked a white Toyota at one of the mall’s gates.

A search of the vehicle yielded a heavy armament of military origin, including an RPG-7
(rocket-propelled grenade launcher) and a civilian assault rifle with a telescope, magazine and 16 rounds.

The pic I saw was not of an RPG7, but of an old Armbrust rocket launcher that was incomplete and may already have been used. It is a single-use weapon, so a fired one is useless. Wait to see if it is described as live/unfired or not.

Sjoe glad they did not use the RPG-7 on the police

A white gang planned do to this to a police helicopter at the Rand Easter Show when Apartheid was still in full swing.

Haha, rocket-propelled grenade launcher. How fast is it propelled and what do one use it for? It will not travel very far and accuracy will be non existent.

I get the joke he's insinuating.
Yes...it is a "rocket-propelled-grenade" launcher. Not a "rocket-propelled" grenade launcher.
:wtf:

never could read Russian...

It has nothing to do with russian, it's in the write-up, nl. "A search of the vehicle yielded a heavy armament of military origin, including an RPG-7
(rocket-propelled grenade launcher) and a civilian assault rifle with a telescope, magazine and 16 rounds."

I just wanted to highlight the wrong choice of words of the journalist.
