Two ISP on same line

OK stupid question,

can you have two ISP's on the same Helkom line?

If so, what are the ramifications?

I just moved into an apartment, landlord has a fixed line LTE here is shocking, my idea was to splice and extent his line to me, then I would have my own ISP.

Is this possible?

Yes, I have a 4 different accounts running through my pfSense box.

You can manually add PPPoE connections through Windows if you want.

To clarify, you cannot run two modems off a single line - you need to use the same router.

No. You can run multiple ISP connections from a single modem but you cannot run more than one modem off a single phone line.

You could of course apply for a second phone line and your own fixed line service! That would be the easiest and best if you want to be totally independent of your neighbor and his service.

If your landlord will let you connect to his wifi, and can put his router into half-bridge mode, you would be able to make a separate connection to your own ISP via PPPoE. That would let you share the bandwidth of his ADSL connection (i.e. sharing a 4Mbps connection, or a 10Mbps connections), but the actual data transferred would accounted separately, allowing you to have your own uncapped account, while your landlord has his capped account with a different ISP (hypothetically)

Something nice too is that in most cases not all the line that goes to the house has at least 2 pairs. If the landlord only has 1 line installed then you can use the second pair to have your own line installed so no need for a physical line again so no digging and stuff like that.

Check it if it does then lay the telephone line to that point inside the house or outside where the phone box is usually and when the tech comes to do the install just tell him/her to use a spare pare of the same wire to install your line.

Not usually the preferred method if the two lines are on a different contract because of the issues that may arise when fault finding.
Secondly there could be interference between the two ADSL services.

But certainly technically feasible.
