Two men were sentenced to 20 years behind bars for rape, by the Durban Regional Court, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday.

Major Thulani Zwane said Sakhile Mkhize, 28, and Sibusiso Nzama, 20, were sentenced last week after the court heard how they raped the victim in 2013 at Amanzimtoti.

They forced a woman on her way home from a shop into bushes and repeatedly raped her.

A case of rape was opened at the Amanzimtoti police station.

Provincial Commissioner Lt-Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the conviction.

"This will send a strong message to the would-be rapists that we will thoroughly investigate all cases directed against women and children and arrest all those committing these cases," she said.

They should have just killed her instead, then they only would have gotten 5 years.

Used to live on Tecoma, a short walk from where this happened. That bridge crossing is known as a hot spot for criminals. You don't dare walk there at night. Rot in hell you pieces of ****.
