Hi

If you've got a fairly large building, and find that one wireless AP doesn't cover the whole building, can you get another wireless AP, but set it to a different frequency than the first, but also with the same SSID and TPIK passkey than the first?

Will this allow people to "roam" through the building without worrying about switching to AP's?

Correct, if using 2.4GHz AP's then channels 1/6/11 are the ones to use (non-overlapping). How seamless the roaming is depends on the quality of your AP.

I've found with high end gear the roaming was good, whereas with entry level stuff there was a delay that no amount of tweaking to the Intel wireless adapters settings that I was using (setting transmit power, roaming agressiveness, etc) could solve.

Just done it myself...

My Router / AP is the DHCP server. The second AP I put in repeater mode, used same SSID on it. Disable DHCP in the 2nd AP, give it a static address in your IP range and make your router's IP the default gateway. Use the same security settings as the Router.

Used ~R200 routers from Asus to do similar at work,1second drops in packets when you switch routers so pratically no noticeable effect, config as you stated
