Is it possible for you to have a router off your ADSL line, then another router picking up the signal from the other PC?

yes,That can be done, but explain more please.DO you wanna have a adhoc connection, then share the internet connection,Please give us more info, more please mom.

Ok. Can I go and buy a router tomorrow. Then connect it to my computer, in another room. It will pick up the signal from the other router connected to the ADSL line and our other PC. Can i then use the internet. Is this possible, or is there an easier method or devide designed specifically to pick up a wifi signal and use it. (how much would it cost)

be hexxtremely careful here, routers that can act as expansions to an existing wireless network are really hard to find.
I don't know of any here in SA, but we setup a site in the states using this kind of configuration.

i.e. Get the right hardware.

Umm why would you want to buy a router? rather buy a pci or usb wirless adapter and pop that in, its going to be way easier.
I you really want a router then get yourself a Linksys WRT54GL it supports AP, Bridge and WDS modes which should be all you need.

All of those wireles s cards are *** expensive, i think. Please give me some prices for them. The belkin one i saw was 1600 rand or so.

Wifi cards are not at all expensive. R400 at most for a decent one. Just looked on a site i buy from and i cant imagine where you get that 1600 price for a wifi card. A router maybe but not a wifi card.

a pretty decent one i can find for cheap is the: Asus WL-169GE 802.11g Wireless USB Adapter @ R413

Specs:
ASUS WL-169GE , 300% broad range , 802.11g 125Mbps wireless usb adapter , usb drive type , 64/128bit WEP , WPA+WPA2, omni-driectional Antenna - with usb extension + neck strap

does it support ad hoc. Usually wireless nics only supprt infrastructure and ad hoc. mine supports station,ap,bridge, wds and nstreme dual slave...

but then again its not any ordinary nic
