Durban - Two suspects were shot when they robbed a man of his wallet and cellphone at roadside where his car broke down on the M7 on Friday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
The man was inspecting his vehicle when he was approached by two armed unknown suspects, Captain Nqobile Gwala said.
The suspects robbed him of his wallet and cellphone at gunpoint.
“The victim managed to draw his firearm and fired shots in the direction of the suspects. Both suspects sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital under police guard,”Gwala said.
One firearm was recovered from the suspects.
A case of armed robbery case had been opened.
