Hello. I have two routers, a Telkom Mega 100WR and a Belkin F6D4630-4 v2. First I used the Mega 100WR and it randomly disconnected, then Belkin (which is new) and that too randomly disconnected. The funny thing is, both of them use to work. I am confused as to why this is happening.

Log in on their web interface and look for ADSL statistics: SNR/noise margins, line attenuations and line speeds

Once you found them, post them here. It is most likely that you're connecting at a too high speed, which would mean that your ADSL connection's fault tolerance is too low.

Here are the ADSL stats:

ADSL
****************************

-Type: Fast Path

-Status: SHOWTIME

Downstream
***********

-Data rate (Kbps): 1024Kb

-Noise Margin: 31

-Output power(dBm): 0

-Attenuation (dB): 22

Upstream
**********
-Data rate (Kbps): 512Kb

-Noise Margin: 13

-Output power(dBm): 39

-Attenuation (dB): 10

Those are very good statistics that you've got there! So you shouldn't have any stability issues.

If you have any telephones/alarm systems/fax machines/ADSL filters connected, I would recommend that you remove them for a while to see if the ADSL connection is stable once it is directly plugged in to the Telkom box in your house.
Faulty or incorrectly used ADSL filters could cause ADSL disconnects.

Once you've ruled out ADSL filters / other telephonic devices as being the problem, then call Telkom to have a look at it.

Lastly, if it recently rained in your area, then that could've caused issues...
Rain is not supposed to influence ADSL connections, but if the manholes are flooded, then if could cause havoc with ADSL connections.

I replaced my ADSL filter with a new and the disconnecting stopped. There was definitely something wrong with the old filter. Thanks a lot:)

Awesome. I'm glad we could've been of assistance.

Thank you for the feedback!
